Denver Mayor Michael Hancock presented the 2012 Monte Pascoe Civic Leadership Award to Professor Ved Nanda yesterday at the State of The City luncheon.

Vanda is on faculty at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law. He founded the Ved Nanda Center for International and Comparative Law in 2007. Nanda has been involved in human rights, social justice, international law and humanitarian endeavors around the world. He is the Honorary President of the World Jurist Association, an elected member of the American Law Institute and a council member-at-large of the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law and Practice. Formerly he served as the U.S. Delegate to the World Federation of the United Nations Association, Geneva and Vice-Chair of its Executive Council.
