Ferguson Named Vice President of the CBA’s First District

Employment law attorney Michelle B. Ferguson has been named Vice President of the Colorado Bar Association, representing the First District/Denver area.
In this role, Ferguson will work with the CBA’s governance to assist members in improving practice quality, economics and efficiency; support and improve the justice system; and enhance public confidence in the legal profession.
Ferguson leads Ireland Stapleton’s employment law practice group. She provides legal advice to employers, individuals and government entities on all matters of employment law and day-to-day personnel issues. She routinely conducts independent investigations regarding claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Further, she conducts anti-discrimination training for managers and employees, drafts personnel policies, forms and employment contracts, addresses collective bargaining issues and represents clients in all types of administrative hearings.
The Colorado Bar Association, founded in 1897, is a voluntary bar association with more than 18,000 members. The association provides opportunities for continuing education, volunteering for the legal and civic communities and networking for those in the legal profession while upholding the standards of the bar. The association also works to secure the efficient administration of justice, encourages the adoption of proper legislation and perpetuates the history of the profession and the memory of its members.
