Welcome Summer Associates!
11 Jun 2019
Ireland Stapleton welcomes Lindsey Folcik and Courtney Iverson, our 2019 summer associates, to the Firm. The Summer Associate Program is a 10-week program held over the summer. It is designed to give law students an opportunity to experience what it’s like to work in a law firm and to gain real-life legal experience under the supervision of experienced attorneys.
“We’re excited to have Courtney and Lindsey with us this summer,” said Rebecca Almon. Rebecca is an environmental law attorney who also manages Ireland Stapleton’s Summer Associate Program. “Our summer associates get the opportunity to work with seasoned transactional and litigation attorneys, further develop their research and writing skills, and develop professional relationships that will help them establish a foundation for success.”
Lindsey comes to Ireland Stapleton from William and Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia. She looks at the study of the law as learning a new language – the better you know how to speak it, the more you can make things happen. Lindsey is enjoying the challenge of law school and looks forward to the challenge of developing a law practice. For now, she’s most interested in environmental and land use law, but she’s open to having her mind changed.
Courtney joins us from Washington and Lee School of Law in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her interest in the law started early on and developed over time. While in college working on her undergrad degree, she interned for a federal district court judge and helped found the Trinity University Pre-Law Society. After her graduation, she knew that a career in law was the only path for her. This summer, she’s looking forward to exploring regulatory practice areas, especially those that involve representing clients in agency rulemaking or legislative strategy matters. She’s also interested in bankruptcy law.
