A new version of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, has been approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The new form, which should be revised by November 22, 2016, will have an expiration date of August 31, 2019. In the meantime, employers may continue using the current form (which is marked with a revision date of March 8, 2013) until January 21, 2017. After that date, all prior versions of the Form I-9 will be invalid.
