Business and real estate attorney Russell Kemp received WorldDenver’s inaugural Citizen Diplomat Award at an event that featured remarks by U.S. Ambassador Michael McFaul.
“WorldDenver defines Citizen Diplomacy the following way: Representing the best of our city and state to the visitors we host and showing awareness and curiosity about the rest of the world in our interactions with people from other countries. Whether meeting with Former U.N. Secretary-General Ban-Ki Moon, or hosting international visitors with his wife in their home, Russell exemplifies that ideal with generosity, intelligence, and strategic vision.”
WorldDenver Interim Executive Director, Laurie Zeller
Russell and Ireland Stapleton have a long-lasting relationship with WorldDenver, a spin-off organization from the International Institute of Education (IIE) that began in the 1950’s. Russell first volunteered for the organization in 2002, and he was instrumental in helping found WorldDenver in 2012.
