Senior Litigation Associate Job Description

Job Description: Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC is seeking a senior litigation associate to join the Firm’s litigation practice group.

Skills/Requirements: The ideal candidate should have at least six plus years of experience working on commercial lawsuits in state and federal courts. Candidates should have excellent writing skills and want to work directly with clients and firm shareholders on all phases of a lawsuit.

Duties/Responsibilities: Work will include participation in internal and client strategy discussions; drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, written discovery, and jury instructions; taking and defending depositions; and appearing in court for hearings and trials.

Director of Administration

Job Description: Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC is seeking a full-time Director of Administration responsible for managing the Firm’s day-to-day operations, including overseeing the Firm’s finance, IT, marketing, and administrative staff.  The Director of Administration also will work collaboratively with Firm leadership on strategic planning and business initiatives to maximize profitability, efficiency, and technology adoption. The successful candidate will have at least seven years of law firm operations management experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations, including supervising Firm administrative personnel in finance, IT, marketing, and human resources.
  • Working closely with Firm leadership on strategic planning, including analyzing and understanding market trends.
  • Acting as a liaison between Firm leadership and Firm employees.
  • Working to ensure the firm is adhering to its core mission, vision and values.
  • Developing human resource policy and  employment processes, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding/training of new employees, and offboarding.  
  • Overseeing employee benefits and compensation and identifying market trends and changes.
  • Managing insurance needs, such as professional liability insurance.
  • Overseeing vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts with outside vendors and insurers where appropriate.
  • Overseeing facilities management.
  • Managing firmwide administrative initiatives and projects, such as practice management systems.
  • Leading, managing, and holding accountable all non-attorney employees and working with partners to manage and supervise associate attorneys.
  • Preparing and managing monthly meeting with Firm’s Executive Committee and monthly meetings with Firm’s Shareholders/Directors.

Required Knowledge:

This position requires strong financial literacy, operational discipline, and technology fluency, including proficiency in the following areas:

  • Coordinating law firm IT systems.
  • Human resources, including payroll and health and retirement benefits administration.
  • Law Firm accounting, including accounts receivable and payables. 
  • Law firm practice management systems and tools, including document management and accounting systems. 
  • Law firm compliance and risk management obligations.
  • Financial reporting and analysis, including coordinating taxes and budgeting.
  • COLTAF (client trust fund) account administration.
  • Professional liability insurance, including renewal processes. 
  • Managing office supply and equipment vendors.
  • Facilities management.

Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ideal candidate would have experience with Coyote and iManage firm management software.

Benefits and Salary:

We offer a competitive salary which is commensurate with experience, ranging from $180,000 – $210,000, plus the potential for annual bonuses based on meeting or exceeding goals for the position.
