Ireland Stapleton is proud to share that Tom Downey, Director and Chair of the firm’s Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations practice, has been honored as the first-ever recipient of the Colorado Nonprofit Association’s Advocate for Impact Award.
This newly established award recognizes individuals whose leadership, integrity, and advocacy have made a lasting impact on Colorado’s nonprofit sector. It celebrates those who use their voice, expertise, and influence to strengthen the entire nonprofit community.
A past Board Chair of the Colorado Nonprofit Association, Tom has long been a trusted advocate for nonprofit organizations, helping them navigate complex regulatory and policy challenges while continuing to serve as a leader in Colorado’s civic and philanthropic community.
“Tom has always led with integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of service,” said Kelley Duke, Managing Director of Ireland Stapleton. “His advocacy has not only strengthened Colorado’s nonprofit sector but has also inspired those around him to lead with purpose. We’re incredibly proud to see his hard work and dedication recognized in such a meaningful way.”
“Working alongside so many dedicated leaders who make a difference every day has been one of the great privileges of my career,” said Tom Downey. “This recognition truly belongs to everyone who believes in the power of advocacy to drive lasting, positive change.”
Paul Lhevine, Executive Director of the Colorado Nonprofit Association, noted that the award was created to honor those who shape Colorado’s nonprofit landscape at a time when advocacy has never been more essential.
Ireland Stapleton congratulates Tom on this well-deserved honor and thanks him for his continued leadership and commitment to the community.
