Attorney Russell Kemp

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver named Ireland Stapleton business lawyer Russell W. Kemp board president.

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, builds and sells homes with zero-interest to hard-working people in need of decent and affordable housing. The group was founded locally in 1979 by volunteers and has since built more than 500 homes in the Denver metro area, housing over 2,000 people.

“2013 is a big year for Habitat in Denver”, says Kemp. “In addition to building about 35 new homes and launching our new Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative to repair existing homes, we will have President Jimmy Carter here to build with us. I am honored to serve this great organization.”

This year, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver has been chosen to host the 30th Annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. During the week long project in October, Habitat will work with hundreds of volunteers, including President Carter, and community partners to build 11 new homes and repair 15 existing homes in the Globeville neighborhood in North Denver.

Kemp has been involved with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver as a volunteer since 2000 and has been a board member since 2008. In his legal practice, Mr. Kemp represents clients involved in complex real estate transactions including conservation easements, property acquisition and sale, construction, development, leasing, financing, foreclosure and workouts, partnerships, joint ventures, entity formations, condemnations, and title disputes. Additionally, he helps clients navigate regulatory and policy issues, probate, and business matters.
