Ireland Stapleton Proudly Sponsors the 40th Anniversary of the Pikes Peak Challenge.
This Saturday, September 6th, our very own Paul Schmidt will be participating in the 40th Anniversary of the Pikes Peak Challenge, raising funds for the Brain Injury Association of Colorado (BIAC) alongside his friend Brad Gorman and others as part of Team Cathleen.
The Pikes Peak Challenge is BIAC’s flagship fundraising event, bringing together survivors of brain injury, their families, friends, and supporters for an inspiring day of perseverance, camaraderie, and community impact. For 40 years, this event has provided essential funding to ensure BIAC can continue to be Colorado’s go-to resource for survivors, families, and providers navigating the challenges of brain injury.
Last year, Team Cathleen raised nearly $8,000 while joining hundreds of participants on the 13-mile hike from Manitou Springs to Barr Camp and back. This year, Paul, Brad, and friends will take on the Summit Hike—a challenging 13-mile trek to the top of Pikes Peak—pushing themselves physically while raising funds to support BIAC’s critical mission.
So far, Team Cathleen has raised $5,000—halfway to their $10,000 goal. Every dollar supports BIAC’s programs, services, and resources for brain injury survivors across the state.
This cause is especially meaningful to Paul. His late wife, Cathleen Schmidt, was a brain injury survivor for 4½ years and benefitted greatly from BIAC’s support. In her honor, Paul joined the BIAC Board of Directors in 2017 and has remained deeply committed to advancing the organization’s mission.
“The Pikes Peak Challenge isn’t just about reaching the summit. It’s about recognizing that every day is a challenge for brain injury survivors—their bravery, persistence, and resilience deserve recognition and support.” — Paul Schmidt
Ireland Stapleton is proud to sponsor Paul’s efforts and BIAC’s ongoing mission. Please consider supporting Team Cathleen by making a donation to help them reach their goal and help BIAC surpass its $200,000 fundraising target this year.
