Lidiana Rios is a commercial litigator at Ireland Stapleton. She represents small, mid-size, and large public and private companies, as well as individuals, in state and federal trials, appeals, mediations, and arbitrations. Ms. Rios handles a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters, including corporate governance and contract disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, business fraud, and fraudulent transfers. Ms. Rios’ results-driven style allows her to design and manage large-scale complex litigation strategies with an eye towards organization, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Ms. Rios has a diverse legal background. In the field of environmental law, Ms. Rios has worked with companies and governmental entities on reclamation projects and compliance with the Clean Water Act, CERCLA, RCRA, and NEPA; represented states in interstate compact litigation; and negotiated water matters and diligence issues with state and federal regulators. Ms. Rios also has experience in civil rights and immigration law. She served as a law clerk at the Centro por la Justicia y el Derecho International in San Jose, Costa Rica, working on litigation before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights; advocated for immigrant victims of family violence at the Texas Civil Rights Project in Austin, Texas; and prepared VAWA and asylum applications at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights in San Francisco, California, and Public Counsel in Los Angeles, California.

Before joining Ireland Stapleton, Ms. Rios clerked for former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Allison H. Eid researching and drafting judicial opinions and memoranda on petitions for Writ of Certiorari. She also clerked at the Municipal Operations department of the Denver City Attorney’s Office. There, she collaborated with city attorneys in representing the City of Denver and Denver International Airport in tax litigation, wrote draft regulations, and worked with city agencies and the Regional Transportation District to design transportation projects in compliance environmental regulations. Ms. Rios also interned with the Denver Mayor’s Office of Sustainability.
