As Ireland Stapleton celebrates our 100th year, we are proud to announce the return of the Monte Pascoe Civic Leadership Award in partnership with Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships and the City and County of Denver.
Established in 2006, the Monte Pascoe Civic Leadership Award honors individuals whose leadership, service, and commitment to community have made a lasting impact on Denver. Revived for the first time since 2022, the award celebrates the legacy of Monte Pascoe—attorney, civic leader, and name partner of Ireland Stapleton—whose dedication to public service helped shape the city we know today.
Among his many accomplishments, Monte led the successful legal battle, ultimately before the U.S. Supreme Court, to desegregate Denver Public Schools, helping create a more equitable future for generations of Denver residents.
"As Ireland Stapleton celebrates its centennial year, we wanted to honor not only our firm's history, but the civic leadership that has helped shape Denver," said Kelley Duke, Managing Director of Ireland Stapleton. "Monte Pascoe exemplified a deep commitment to community, and we are thrilled to revive this award in his honor."
We invite the Denver community to nominate individuals whose leadership, service, and civic engagement continue to strengthen our city and improve the lives of others.
Nominations are open through August 5, 2026.
The recipient will be recognized during Ireland Stapleton's Centennial Celebration on September 10, 2026, at the Denver Art Museum.

We look forward to celebrating those who embody the spirit of service, leadership, and community that Monte Pascoe championed throughout his life.
