Former Deputy Secretary of State Bill Hobbs, has joined Ireland Stapleton.

Hobbs will draw on his experience in the Colorado Secretary of State’s office both as deputy to five Secretaries of State and as State Elections Director to expand the election law practice at Ireland Stapleton. Recently, the firm also added former Secretary of State Bernie Buescher to its roster. The firm’s extensive Special District Practice Group already handles election issues on a regular basis. Hobbs, Buescher and other attorneys at the firm will make up the Election Law Practice Group, with an initial push to provide advice to local governments throughout Colorado.

Hobbs brings nearly 40 years’ experience working with elected officials and the Colorado State Legislature. He has also served as an administrative law judge and currently serves as Director of Special Projects for the Statewide Internet Portal Authority. In addition to election issues, Hobbs will advise the firm’s clients on regulatory issues and in procurement matters.
